DSM 5.1-5022 Update 5
I just installed a computer successfully, but with the base install and manually got it to Update 3. Since 5.2 is out now, there is no way to “auto update” to Update 5, can we download it somewhere/somehow so we have all the current fixes.

Installing on Avoton based system
Hello,
I am planning to build a home server based on the ASRock C2550D4I (Intel Avoton C2550 SoC). Previously I have succesfully installed xpenology on my old Acer Revo HTPC and I noticed that the pat file used is for DS3615xs (bromolow).
My question is should I use this same pat file or should I install the avoton (DS415+) pat file? Thanks in advance.

Slow Access to File Directory
When I access my NAS through my LAN on my Mac (selecting from Finder not DSM portal), there is a noticeable lag until files show in Finder. I currently have 3 x 3TB WD Reds in Synology’s SHR (RAID 5 equivalent). DSM is loaded on a USB 3.0 thumb drive connected to a USB 3.0 port. Gigabit connection. Any idea what’s going on?
CPU: Intel i3-4170
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H97N-WIFI
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 4GB 1600MHz DDR3
HDDs: WD Red 3TB x 3
USB Drive: SanDisk Ultra Fit 16GB USB 3.0

LAN 2 Disconnected, even when it is not! ? ! ? Weird.
Ok, This is weird. One of my XPEN boxes will not enable (connect) the LAN 2 port. No matter what I do, it is disconnected. I swapped the NIC and LAN 2 is still disconnected, but when I add a third NIC (LAN 3) I can connect with it.
Is there a config file somewhere that can permanently disable this interface?
DSM 5.2-5592 Update 4 (but it acted the same at Update 2).

Hardware Compatibility Check: Designing my First XPEnology Build
I’m coming from 5 years using Synology devices, currently running a DS1813+/DX513 with 13x4tb (10-2+1) and completely loving it. However I am hitting my roof on storage and don’t really want to drop 2500 on a DS3615 unit to make the next jump in capacity when I already have a ton of old desktop hardware lying around from the last upgrade I did to my gaming rig. Enter XPEnology! This is fantastic and I’ll be hoping to pair it up with my main Syno device as a secondary unit, cram all my old drives in and get some cheap ones on the used market, planning to upgrade them later on once I have squirreled away more cash into the “ongoing tech upgrade” fund.
So since this is my first time, I am not familiar with building hardware into a server chassis (I’m going to mount this thin in my short depth rack 19×19, designed for AV). I’ve spec’d out a handful of parts that I’d like to get checked by this fine community for comparability to make sure that what I buy will work, and if not, pick different parts.

Thoughts? Has anyone used any of these parts? Do you think it will work, or even fit?
Ideally I’d like to cram as many drives into the space as possible, Hot-Swap externally accessible would be great. I’m really not married to a chassis yet, I just want the most 3.5″ bays for the money, and the smaller the better. I’d pay a bit more to have a smaller chassis with the same number of bays, but the key is that the it fits into the short depth that I’ve got to work with.

Compiling environnement: GCC version
Hi,
I tried to solve an issue for the package ffmpeg on SynoCommunity.
See the issue https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/issues/2498
I think it’s an incompatibility between the compiling environment used by SynoCommunity and the compiling environment used to create Xpenology DSM because libgomp has a different version.
libgomp.0 on DSM and libgomp.1 linked in ffmpeg
I don’t find the source code of Xpenology. Could somebody share a link to the source code ? Or what is the gcc version used to compile Xpenology ?

xpenology stopped?
Did xpenology stopped creating boot for new versions ?
For latest DSM cannot find bootloader and also for Surveillance there is no bromolow version for the latest one.

I had my friends DSM at myplace to insert an addition HD. I booted it up just to make sure it boots then when my friend took it home we can search and find the DSM in the Assistant however when we click to connect url can’t find page. 6 Port SATA II150 PCI Host Card w?RAID
Ran out of SATA ports and got myself a card. only options are RAID0 – 5 , Single Drive and Concatenation. It’s just one drive I want. Ran Format then tried Single with no luck, keeps saying RAID1 not set. Tried Concatenation with set but upon rebooting my NAS I don’t see this drive available. Any suggestions please. no hard disk found on DS3617
im newer to xpenology. i have ibm x3650 M3 server with one hard drive. so i downloaded xpenology bootloader for 6.1. then i used 16GB disk using rufus i extracted to it.
using find.synology.com i could able to detect the server ip address.
but when I tried to connect to server i stuck at with this message
“no hard disk found on DS3617Xs”
so it never went to next step of setup. what could be the reason? is this compatible issue of raid?
